Sustainability at Kiwi Crunch
In 2024, Kiwi Crunch were honoured to receive the Excellence in Sustainability Award at the ExportNZ ASB Hawke’s Bay Export Awards, recognising the real and measurable progress we have made across our operations. For us, this award reflects our commitment to doing better every season.
The ExportNZ ASB Hawke’s Bay Export Awards is an annual event that celebrates the achievements of companies based within the Hawke’s Bay New Zealand in exporting goods and services to overseas markets. It recognizes and honors companies from the Hawke’s Bay region that have successfully exported goods and services to international markets.
Kiwi Crunch were finalists in three categories at the awards, which is a first time in the awards history this has happened. The categories included: Best Established Business, Excellence in Innovation, and Excellence in Sustainability.

Our Sustainability Practices
At Kiwi Crunch, we maintain rigorous grade standards and food safety measures, our commitment to quality ensures that our apples and pears are 100% traceable, from the orchard to the store.
With over 800 hectares of carbon-crushing trees across New Zealand, we're doing our bit for the planet. In line with our sustainability goals, we're taking conscious steps to reduce our plastic usage, such as replacing plastic carton liners with eco-friendly cardboard alternatives.
Additionally, we're actively combatting our waste by sending our juice fruit to be made into fruit concentrates and devising new products and strategies for 2025. With a passion for quality, sustainability, and innovation, we're dedicated to continuing our growth journey and learning new ways we can improve in the future.

The award judges noted that our approach illustrates how a number of small steps can add up to significant impact. That philosophy captures our sustainability journey perfectly.
We are constantly looking for practical, innovative ways to improve, ensuring sustainability in every sense of the word. With a passion for quality, responsibility and continuous improvement, Kiwi Crunch remains committed to growing premium New Zealand fruit in a way that supports our planet, our people and our global partners.
